Itinerary:

Day 01: Transfer in Cusco

Machupicchu Flight to Cusco, upon arrival passengers will be transferred to their hotel in order to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude (10,496 ft). Due to our experience in high altitude travel, we do not include lunch because most travelers prefer not to eat in order to acclimatize.
Afternoon walking city tour of Cusco. This soft hike will take you through the streets of Cusco, visiting the main attraction of this fascinating city that mixes Inca and Colonial architecture making it a unique place. You will be met by your guide in your hotel in Cusco. From there we will start our city tour walking to the Temple of Koricancha, considered the most important Inca Temple of Cusco, nowadays occupied by a monastery of the Dominican order. From here we will walk to Cusco’s Main Square, were we will visit both the Cathedral built over the ruins of the Sunturwasi temple and the “Iglesia de la Compañia”. Then we will move on to San Blas, known as the artisan’s neighbourhood and explore its narrow streets to get to its Church and see its wood carved pulpit. Visit the houses of famous artisans such as the Mendivil family, who are considered the cradle of most handcrafters in Cusco city. From this area you have a wonderful view of the whole city. We will end this walking city tour in your hotel or in a nice restaurant. At night passengers will receive a briefing about their upcoming adventure. Meals not included.

Day 02: Sunday Cusco / Maukallakta

After an early breakfast we leave Cusco (7:00am) in our private vehicle, we will drive for 1:30hrs to the Ccorca pass where we will start our Mountain Bike Adventure. We will receive our biking equipment and a short safety briefing by our guide to then start biking through a dirt road towards Maukallakta. Before reaching the Pakarektampu town we will take a detour to the Inca site of Maukallakta (Biking time: 5 hours). 60 % of the route is downhill and 40% is uphill ride. After a short visit to this amazing and very sacred Inca site, we will go to our campsite. From here we will have an impressive view of the Apurimac River canyon and the majestic Vilcabamba mountain range. Lunch will be served en-route and dinner will be served at the campsite.

Day 03: Monday Maukallakta/ Huanoquite / Molle Molle

After a repairing breakfast we will continue our mountain bike journey through the Andes. We will follow a dirt road with ups and downs until we reach Huanoquite town (Riding: 20kms). We then continue for about 8 kms, until we reach a very hard uphill portion where we will board our vehicle to continue our way in order to get to the Willkakunka pass (13,874 fts), from where we will get to our bike again and continue biking downhill for 1 hrs (6kms) until we get to our lunch spot at Qenqonay. This place is surrounded by a forest of Andean cedar, Queuña trees among other native tree species with over 300 years of existence. Here we will explore the forest or jus rest until we continue riding to Molle Molle (11,316fts), where we will camp. At Molle Molle we will visit the town and its 2 XVI century bells and will share stories about the town with our guides. Lunch will be served en-route and dinner will be served at the campsite.

Day 04: Tuesday Inca Trail to Apurimac River

MachupicchuOur day will start hiking an un-visited section of the ancient Inca Trail, which used to take Inca hikers known as “Chaskis” from Cusco to Apurimac. We will descend to (7,708 fts) until we reach the Apurimac River (Hiking Time: 3 hrs) near the Huajachaca Bridge, where we will appreciate the old Inca Bridge that connected both sides of the river. At this point we will meet the other part of the crew, our River rafting guides and all of our equipment to continue with our expedition. Lunch will be served in this place. After lunch our River rafting guides will provide us with our river equipment and will give us a safety briefing before getting to the rapids of this fantastic River. We will paddle for about 2 to 3 hours running class 3 rapids in this amazing white granite canyon, until we get to our campsite. Dinner will be served at the campsite.

Day 05: Wednesday The Black Canyon Section

Today, our adventure starts early. We will run quite a few class III rapids and then enjoy the most beautiful part of the canyon and its calm waters. We may see river otters, dears, foxes, torrent ducks and tropical Andean birds. Continuing our adventure, we will pass under several suspended bridges along the river and will meet the Santo Tomas River. At noon, we will set camp.

Day 06: Thursday “The Other Right” & “3 Condores” rapids /Hualpachaca Bridge / Cusco

MachupicchuAfter breakfast we will run class III to IV pool-drops rapids, like "The other right" and "3 Condores" among others. We will have lunch at the end of our adventure, followed by a five-hour drive to Cusco in our private vehicle.

Day 07: Friday Transfer our Cusco

Transfer from hotel to Cusco’s airport in order to board flight back to Lima.
Meals not included

Included:
