Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco - Pakarektampu – Naihua - Apurimac River
From Cusco 3,400 mts. altitude we drive 4 hours trough the Andes to the put-in at the Village of Naihua (2600 mts.). It will take us about two hours to prepare all the equipment. We will receive our equipment, safety talk and instructions. Rafting in the evening (2 hours) for our first camp, no far from first class 3-4 rapid. Technical instructions rapids class III and IV. (L,D)
Day 02: "Submarine" and "Cramps" Rapids.
After a healthy breakfast we will walk around the campsite to admire the vegetation like bromeliads and orchids. Start rafting in a technical rapid called "Submarine" and many class 4 rapids. At lunch time we will run "Cramps rapid" a class 5 rapid before a short portage. After lunch we will run class 3 rapids in an amazing white water granite canyon. Camp and we will have dinner and sleep on a sandy beach under the night sky. (B, L, D)
Day 03: Black Canyon Section
Today rafting starts early. We will run quite a few class 3 rapids and enjoy the most beautiful part of the canyon with its calm water. We may see river otters, some dear, foxes, torrent ducks and tropical Andean birds. Will have lunch at a sandy beach. In the afternoon we will pass many suspended bridges along the river and will meet the Santo Tomas river. At noon we will set camp. (B, L, D)
Day 04: "The Other Right and 3 Condores” Rapids - Puente Hualpachaca – Cusco
After breakfast we will run class many class 3-4 pool drops rapids like "The other right" and "3 Condores" plus many other rapids. Lunch at the take-out. 5 hours drive in private bus to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel. (B,L). End of our Service.
