Itinerary

Day 01: Cachiccata Activities

IntiwatanaEarly in the morning we pick you up from your hotel and drive through the Andes to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  On the way we can see the Urubamba range and potatoes fields that belongs to the most important town called Chinchero, continue to the route we are going to reach the Sacred Valley of the Incas passing through Urubamba the most important province on the valley, them we continue to the Inca town Ollantaytambo.

We’ll start the hike in Cacchicata community; we are going to walk through the valley and passing terraces and water channels until to get almost the base of one of the most important mountain of the community called Apu Buena Negra which is diorite formation of these mountains. After our soft hike, we’ll involve of activities with the purpose of conserving the environment and assisting in the sustainable development of the resources of the Community of Cacchiccata. We’ll plant native trees like Quiswar and Chachacomo trees in an organic Garden and participation in educational programs.

In the afternoon we will visit the Ollantaytambo fortress (Optional) guided tour, go back to Cachiccata

In the evening, we will camp this night at a nice campsite owned by a group of young local people from Cachiccata community. From here we can enjoy a view of the community, Ollantaytambo and Veronica snow capped mountain.

Day 02:  Cachiccata – Cusco or Next Destination

Breakfast and transfer to Ollantaytambo train station to take the train to Machu Picchu or go back to Cusco or connect another adventure
