Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco / Chillca L/D
Early morning departure from Cusco (8:30am) along the fertile Vilcanota Valley to the town of Checacupe After a visit to the colonial temple of the Immaculate Virgin, we start ascending the Pitumarca valley, along the spectacular Japura gorge that leads to Chillca. From here it is a short and easy walk to the first “Tambo”(45 minutes). Once at the lodge where we will be greeted by the communeros, there will be time to relax and enjoy the music provided by our community partners.

Day 02: Chillca B/PL/D
After breakfast, escorted by our fishing guide we begin the ascent to Yanacocha lake,, it will take Us 2 and a half hours o get to the lagoons; soon after arriving we start casting for salmon trout, these highland lake trout’s are very fast and give a lot of fight. The sustainable management of the resource has been organized by the community, for example, fishermen use hooks without barb to avoid damaging the fish, measure buckets to size the catch, small fish is promptly returned to the lagoon. After our exquisite picnic lunch at the side of the lake, we will return to the Lodge over the vista trail, which has some of the most spectacular views of the Vilcanota range. We will arrive at the lodge in time to take a hot shower and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 03: Chillca / Cusco B
After breakfast we pack our fishing gear and luggage and return back to Cusco arriving around noon.

First Day- Cusco - Checacupe 1.5 hrs. 100 km (Bus)
- Checacupe - Chilcatambo 1.5 hrs. 42 km (Bus)
- Chilcatambo - Yanacocha 2.5 hrs. 3Km (Trekking)
- Yanacocha Chilcatambo 02 hrs. 3Km (Trekking)
Third Day
- Chilcatambo – Cusco 03 hrs. 145 km (Bus)
