Vilcanota-Urubamba Whitewater Adventure. (2 Days / 1 Night)

Level Class 2-3 rapids Moderate. No needs experience. Flotation sections and Class 4 rapids available.

Description Whitewater rafting following the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Side hikes and optional visit to Indian markets and archaeological sites.

Itinerary description

FIRST OPTION:

DAY 01: URCOS – SAN SALVADOR SECTION:

Early in the morning collection from the hotel and drive South through the Andes to the Urcos town (1 hour), that is the starting point of the white river rafting experience. Here you will receive your safety talk and equipment.

After a brief period practicing on the flatter parts of the river we will begin your white water experience, and through rapids of class II and III we will be finishing in San Salvador.

In the take out we dry off and change clothes, we will head a picnic tent lunch at the side of the river.

After lunch and rest at river bank we will drive back to Urcos Lake (1 hour 1/2) to set up our camp and have the night under the southern sky. Dinner and set up in camp.

Total rafting time 3 hours. (Lunch / Dinner)

DAY 02: CUSIPATA - QUIQUIJANA SECTION:

After breakfast we will drive for 45 min to CUSIPATA to the exactly point where starts the second day River Rafting. Here we will have a fantastic opportunity to raft in some Class IV rapids. Here the rapids move and lot faster and they are constant Class IV for around 12 kms which is 3 hours of rafting.

In the take out we will dry off and change clothes, we will head a picnic tent lunch at the side of the river.

SECOND OPTION

DAY 01: OLLANTAYTAMBO SECTION

Early in the morning we will pick you up from the hotel and drive through the Andes to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to our private put in, located in Pachar, here you will receive your safety talk and equipment (toilet facilities).

After a brief period practicing on the flat parts of the river, the first part of the tour will be in easy water but with spectacular views of the mountains and archeological remains, passing down to Ollantaytambo and its Inca terraces and we will find rapids class II and III finishing with “El Resbaladero” (the slippery one) which a strong class III rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools.

In the take out we will dry off and change clothes, we will head a picnic tent lunch at the side of the river. (Toilet facilities).

Tonight  We will have dinner and set up in camp.

Total rafting time 3 hours.

DAY 02: CHUQUICAHUANA SECTION

After breakfast and packing up we will head to the South of Cusco to Chuquicahuana. Here we will have a fantastic opportunity to raft in some Class IV rapids. Here the rapids move and lot faster and they are constant Class IV for around 11 kms which is 4 hours of rafting. Half way through we will stop for lunch and a rest before getting back into our boats for some serious fun. Transfer to Cusco and end of our services.
