Itinerary description

Day 1: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – PISAC:

Arrival to Cusco and welcome by your guide
Visit to Pisac handricraft market place
Lunch and afternoon to relax at the valley
Meals included: Lunch - Dinner

Day 2: CHINCHERO – MARAS & MORAY

Visit to Chinchero archeological site and textile demonstration
Visit to the Maras Salt mines
Picnic lunch at Moray the inca agricultural laboratory
Acclimation hike to prepare for the inca trail
Meals included: Breakfast – Picnic Lunch – Dinner

Day 3: INCA TRAIL DAY 1

Km. 82 – HUAYLLABAMBA:
Hike distance: 11 km / 6 hours approximately
Camp site: Huayllabamba at around 3000 m.a.s.l. – 9842 ft)
Meals included: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner

Day 4: INCA TRAIL DAY 2

HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO:
Hike distance: 7km / 7 hours approximately
Highest point: Warmihuañusca pass (4200 m.a.s.l. - 13860 ft. approximately)
Camp site: Pacaymayo (3600 m.a.s.l. – 11181 ft.)
Meals included: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner

Day 5: INCA TRAIL DAY 3

PACAYMAYO- PHUYUPATAMARCA:
Hike distance: Pacaymayo – Wiñaywayna: 9 km / 7 hours approximately.
Highest point: Ceremonial Center of Phuyupatamarca ruins (3650mts–12045ft)
Camp site: Wiñaywayna (2700 mts – 8,856ft approximately)
Meals included: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner

Day 6: INCA TRAIL DAY 4

WIÑAYWAYNA - MACCHU PICCHU – CUSCO:
Hike distance Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu : 5 km /4 hours approximately
Highest point: Inti Punku (2740 mts - 9042 ft approximately)
Guided tour of Machu Picchu and train back to Cusco.
Meals included: Breakfast – Lunch Box

Day 7: CUSCO CITY TOUR AND FAREWELL DINNER

Walking city tour with a visit of the Cathedral, the sun temple Qoricancha and de nearby archeological sites.
Meals included: Breakfast –Dinner

Day 8: CUSCO – LIMA

Transfer to the airport and international flight connection.
Meals included: Breakfast

RESERVATIONS, PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES


To book the Inca Trail, the reservation should be made in advanced, Entrance fees to the inca trail may vary according to the MINISTER OF CULTURE regulations. IN this case, we will inform you immediately in order to readjust your trip dates.

Apumayo will need all these information to buy the entrances:

PAYMENTS:

All our services we require a deposit, we require a 50% deposit to be made upon confirmation of the reservation and the remaining 50% to be sent 45 days before the beginning of our services.

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER:

  • You must advise our company of any medical problems or allergies. You need to be in good physical health and if your health is questionable, then you should consult a doctor about high altitude trekking. If you are over the age of 65, then you will need to present us with a current medical certificate.
  • You must advise your guide if you wish to leave the group or the camping area for independent walks or sightseeing. If you are experiencing any problems with the service of the guide or tour please advises the guide in that moment so he can resolve any problems as soon as possible.

For cancellations made from the confirmation day up to 45 days before the beginning of our services, we will charge 30% of the total amount.

For cancellations made between 44 days and 30 days before the beginning of our services, we will charge 50% of the total amount.

For cancellations made less than 29 days before the beginning of our services, we will charge a full 100% penalty.

In case the personal information sent by clients is changed or modified, they will be subject to penalties or cancellations

In case any passenger with an Inca trail service renews his/her passport, he/she will have to bring a copy of the old passport as well as the valid (original) passport in order to enter the Inca trail.

Apumayo will take all reasonable care in providing service to our clients to avoid accident, illness, loss of personal property and will only employ suitably qualified staff. We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. Apumayo cannot however be responsible for any action or event that was unforeseeable or unavoidable. We also cannot be responsible for improper acts by clients or other third party. You are totally responsible for your own personal property and rented equipment.

  • Travel Insurance: We recommend that full travel insurance is taken, which includes cover, under certain circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation charges. Please note that no reimbursements are given when cancellations occur or for any unused services.

Apumayo will do everything possible to assure a safe and enjoyable trip but we will not accept any responsibility for damages, injuries, losses, expenses due to delays, for any cause whatsoever, this applies to any person or property in connection with any service we or our intermediaries provide, which result directly or indirectly.
