Day 3: Cuzco - White River Rafting (1B, 1L)

Enjoy an exciting rafting trip along the beautiful Urubamba River, running rapids in Class III and IV. Our private transportation will take you the camping grounds; after a comprehensive safety talk, head out on the water to practice a few commands before the rapids begin. Once rafting, you will be running over the exciting rapids along 11kms on the Chuquicahuana section of the beautiful upper Urubamba river for over two hours. After the rafting is complete, you will enjoy a delicious hot lunch on the riverside before you change and head back to Cuzco.

Day 4: Cuzco - Huchuy Qosqo Trek (1B, 1L, 1D)

Head off the beaten track and follow this lesser known path through small hamlets to an area that is scarcely seen by tourists. The Inca Site of Huchuy Qosqo “Little Cuzco” is situated above the Valley of Urubamba and offers spectacular vistas overlooking the Sacred Valley and snow-capped peaks of the Vilcabamba range.

Start your day driving from your hotel into the heart of the Andes to the small village of Patabamba (3800m), from this point we start hiking through Andean landscapes climbing steadily reaching the Pukamarca Pass at 4100m. The hike continues along a path that leads to the Siwas town, where we encounter archaeological remains, wild crops, and a large number of cacti while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding area.

Continuing the path we descend towards the beautiful remote Andean pueblo of Pukamarca at 4010m where we stop for a short break. Back on the trail we go downhill into a mystical ancient path which leads into a very narrow corridor, in between some immense rock walls, where the route seems like it is coming to an end we discover ancient Incan remains, various Inca bridges and sets of stairs (some of the best Inca Stairs anywhere around). This narrow canyon is absolutely magical and boasts geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders on the river Huchuy Qosqo at 3600m.

Upon arrival to the ruins in the evening we meet a local family of the area who will serve us dinner and give us a room where we spend the night, next the Huchuy Qosqo ruins on the side of the mountain. (Hiking Time: 6 hours)

Day 5: Ollantaytambo - Huchuy Qosqo Trek (1B, 1L)

After breakfast we explore the ruins of Huchuy Qosqo, this Inca archaeological complex is perched precariously on the side of a mountain with imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we will behold amazing panoramic views. While in the complex a guided tour will take us around the ruins before we follow a steep descent to Lamay village at 2800m from where we head by car to the picturesque village of Ollataytambo in the Sacred Valley. Free afternoon to explore the Inca ruins of Temple Hill; including monolithic walls and fountains facing the terraced hills.

Day 6: Ollantaytambo - Day Trip to Machu Picchu (1B)

Visit the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu, one of the most spectacular sites in the world, on this day trip from Ollantaytambo. Take a guided tour of the site and spend your time soaking in the mystical air of this fascinating sanctuary.

There are few things more spectacular than seeing the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu rise from the mountains and into the mist of the Amazon jungle.

Begin the day directly at your accommodation in Ollantaytambo before sunrise, and arrive safely at the spectacular site of Machu Picchu via a combination of transfers, including a train ride and a shuttle bus. Journey along the beautiful Urubamba River as the Amazon jungle begins to unfold before your eyes. Once at “The Lost City of the Incas”, embark on a 2 hour guided tour through this special place under the morning sun. Visit the Main Plaza, walk around the Circular Tower, hear the story behind the Sacred Sun Dial, and marvel at the ancient Temple of the Three Windows. After the guided tour, there will be time to explore the site on your own before returning to the town of Ollantaytambo at night.

Day 7: Cuzco - Mountain Biking to Moray & Maras (1B, 1L)

This adventurous mountain biking half day trip through the Sacred Valley combines stunning landscapes with fascinating archeological sites, and finishes at the truly breathtaking salt mines near the bank of the Urubamba river.

The excursion begins with a short stop at the archaeological park of Moray to learn about Incan agricultural technology and the region's many distinct microclimates that change growing conditions and allow the propagation of a huge variety of plants each with slightly different growth requirements. After a enjoying a box lunch we hit the road linking Moray and Maras, a "single track" which is excellent to practice "Cross country", biking up and down with beautiful views of mountainous countryside on route to the spectacular salt mines of Maras village and further down to the banks of the Urubamba river where our transport will be waiting.

Day 8: Cuzco - Stand Up Paddle (1B)

Dare to paddle on the beautiful Lake Piuray on this half day adventure.

The tour starts early in the morning heading to The Sacred Valley, after about an hour drive we arrive to Chincheros, where Piuray Lake is located. This beautiful lake offers spectacular sceneries, perfect flat water and plenty of birds.

Our base is the home of a local family that lives on the shores of the lake, they will greet us with a smile and share with us a little of their lifestyle and culture.

We start with a safety briefing and paddle technique on land. Once in the water the idea is first to get acquainted with the board, paddling techniques and making turns.

The lake offers perfect conditions, no wind or waves so the board is pretty stable. Depending on your skills, we circle all the lake, paddling a distance of approximately 5 km in 2 hours; the difficulty level is basic as most of the time we paddle close to the shores.

Back on the ground we put on warm clothes and relax, enjoy a box lunch and a hot infusion before we head back to Cuzco.
