This adventure tour through the Chachapoyas region combines cloud-forest hikes, archaeological visits, and spectacular waterfalls in an itinerary designed for those seeking nature, culture, and dramatic landscapes. Over several days you will explore panoramic viewpoints, little-traveled routes through green valleys, pre-Inca fortresses, and some of the country’s most impressive waterfalls, always accompanied by local guides who facilitate access and provide context for each site.
The day is devoted to a short hike around Leymebamba, with time to appreciate the green valleys surrounding the village and enjoy a picnic along the route; the afternoon is reserved for rest and an evening meal.
Early in the morning the group transfers to Nuevo Tingo to take the cable car up to Kuelap; once at the fortress there is a guided archaeological tour of a couple of hours to walk the walls and learn about its pre-Inca significance. After the visit and lunch, the journey continues by road to the Cocachimba area for the next stage of the trip.
A full day dedicated to Gocta waterfall with route options according to ability and preference: the traditional round-trip trail or an extended option that includes San Pablo. The day offers walking through cloud forest, birdwatching, and viewpoints of the cascade, finishing with time to relax in the area.
Departure for the Yumbilla waterfall trail, a full-day hike along quiet cloud-forest paths that culminates at a series of spectacular falls. The afternoon is set aside for complementary nature activities and birdwatching, including the possibility of visiting refuges for emblematic species.
Transfer to the Karajía area for a short trek to the cliffside funerary sarcophagi; from there continue to Quiocta cave for a guided walk through its galleries, formations, and archaeological remains, ending the day with a local dining experience.
Morning transfer to Chachapoyas airport for the scheduled flight to Lima or onward destinations, concluding the program and allowing for combinations with other itineraries if desired.
